Wow. Tremendously moving, and well presented, piece that illustrates a range of emotions and dives deeply into what it means to strive for improvement, to be part of the work of others, and to be married. Really loved this.
Russell I love reading about the Carter They had a very interesting family and family life I hope u write another store about the people and their lives in Eastern Kentucky
Beautiful portrait of an extraordinary life. So glad this finally made it out into the world.

This is beautiful and profound Russ, I was especially moved by:
- The reflection on June's relationship to place through Wendell Berry
- The human frailty and failings that keep cycling and rebounding instead of wrapping up in a neat resolution
- The transcendent emphasis on forgiveness that runs through her life in spite of all the pain
I also had no idea that Johnny Cash did a cover of Hurt. A powerfully sad rendition in light of their story.
Very well done, Russell! A great account of a tumultuous life
