An antique dealer we frequent passed along to Catherine a series of letters to and from some of her local ancestors. The letters were mostly 1780s to 1840s. I was stunned at how literate and expressive they were. Like Jefferson and Adams writing back and forth to each other. Perhaps the necessity for letter writing has hurt us?
