Early Days of Reading The Bhagavad Gita and the Bible

A week of writing about the experience so far

Inspired by my friend Rob Hardy’s challenge of writing and publishing a post every day for 100 days, I wrote five essays in five days this week. This is a summary of those posts. I hope it inspires you to check out one or two or (cough...) all five!

It was an interesting experiment and well-timed. In late January, I decided to read the Bible this year. That followed months of reading The Bhagavad Gita and a lengthy, heavy tome of commentaries on it. I'm still in the early days. In these five posts, I explore why I began these readings and share some initial reflections.

Beginnings

The origins of my reading The Bhagavad Gita and the Bible in a year, more or less.

We Do Not Exist to Maximize Productivity

My surprising reaction to a podcast with Tim Ferriss and James Clear.

Beginning to Read The Bhagavad Gita and the Bible: First Reflection

I now read much more slowly and deliberately.

Beginning to Read The Bhagavad Gita and the Bible: Second Reflection

A beautiful moment every day.

Progress — however little, however long it takes.

Thanks for reading and going along with my little experiment. What did you think?

Next week — back to our regularly scheduled one post! Bam!

Finally, if you have not taken my survey on prayer and spiritual practices, I invite you to take it here.
